With incredibly tasty chocolate, Tony’s Chocolonely leads by example and shows the world that chocolate can be made differently.
Sugar helped communicate about Tony’s Chocolonely’s Sweet Solutions campaign in Finland. Tony’s launched the global campaign in 2021 to raise awareness about human rights issues within the supply chain of chocolate production. The campaign’s chocolate bars were inspired by some of the world’s biggest and most recognizable chocolate brands.
Sugar distributed a press release and sent out Sweet Solutions surprise packages to 60 influencers. The press release and send-outs were meant to raise awareness about the use of illegal child labor in chocolate production, which is still an ongoing issue despite the industry’s promises to tackle it already 20 years ago. Tony’s Chocolonely wanted to challenge all chocolate lovers to sign a petition for child labor- and slavery-free chocolate production.

The Sweet Solutions surprise send-outs resulted in 36 Instagram posts from influencers with diverse audience sizes. Altogether the media reach rose to 950 796 viewers. Several influencers included a link or a recommendation to sign the petition for child labor- and slavery-free chocolate production.
