Summary of the brand:

Started in 1921 as a pharmaceutical laboratory with its own plant garden, Weleda is the leading developer and manufacturer of natural cosmetics and anthroposophic medicine. Weleda produces hundreds of products for natural cosmetics, along with thousands of medicinal products – many of them manufactured from the medicinal plants of Weleda’s own garden even to this day. Fair trade and fair treatment, high quality, high environmental standards and ethical values are the defining values that drive the international company’s operations.

Commission and starting point:

The goal was to boost the media exposure of Weleda within Finnish media and to increase the profile and followers of the company’s social media channels in Finland. Content needed to be of high quality, with fresh and fascinating substance for consumers, while sharing information about the background and values of Weleda.


Weleda and Sugar began their cooperation in January 2017. In the true nature of a holistic PR companionship, Sugar handles Weleda’s Finnish media relations, influencer campaigns, and content for Instagram, Instagram stories, and Facebook. When we control the social media channels and media contacts of a brand, we are able to quickly execute innovative social media and PR activations that speak directly to the correct target groups and the media.

Results in ½ a year:

With a half-a-year’s work of PR, the number of media hits for Weleda increased by a 100% when compared to the previous year. Weleda’s social media presence in Finland has grown quickly: followers in Instagram are up by 40% and in Facebook by 20%. Social media content shared by both consumers and other regional pages. The diverse products of the brand have been steadily present on several different media channels.
